Google Pixel 10 May Ditch Samsung in Favour of TSMC for Tensor G5 SoC

According to a report, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) may produce the chipset for the Google Pixel 10. Despite not being released until late 2025, there have been rumors that Google may no longer use Samsung’s foundry after the Pixel 9 and the Tensor G4. Even though the launch is more than a year away, there is now conjecture that the corporation has already begun producing sample units of the chip in order to get its manufacturing process going.

Google Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 Chip: Details

The chip was purportedly discovered in the shipment manifest of databases that are accessible to the public, according to a report published by Android Authority. According to earlier rumors, the chip is nicknamed “Laguna Beach,” and the database has a reference to it. The chip revision “A0,” which is purported to be the initial version of the Tensor G5, is then mentioned. This suggests that more adjustments will probably be made before it is prepared to power the Pixel 10 series. Additionally, it is listed as “NPI-OPEN,” which is purported to indicate that it is a “New Product Introduction.”

The newest smartphone from the UK-based firm has an AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC. It boasts an IP54-rated construction and two 50-megapixel cameras on the back. So let’s dive deeper.

The Phone 2a is perceived as an attempt by Nothing to compete with companies like Realme and Xiaomi, who have historically dominated the mid-range price market.

One distinctive and essential feature of Nothing Phone was the glyph interface, which let users design custom glyph patterns linked to particular callers. In line with the brand’s dedication to visual diversity, the phone 2a will come in two timeless colors: black and white. The Nothing Phone 2a has an internal storage capacity of up to 256GB. 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6 Direct, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, QZSS, 360-degree antenna, and USB Type-C connector are among the smartphone’s connectivity choices. There are several sensors on board, such as a proximity sensor, accelerometer, electronic compass, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and in-display fingerprint sensor. It has two stereo speakers and high-definition microphones. It is water and dust-resistant, with an IP54 rating, and it features the face unlock feature for authentication.

Nothing compares to the Phone 2a’s 5,000mAh battery and 45W rapid charging capability. Compared to the 4,500mAh battery unit in Phone 1 and the 4,700mAh battery unit in Phone 2, this represents a major boost. It is stated that the battery unit may run continuously for up to two days on a single charge. It is claimed that the battery can be fully charged using fast charging technology in just 23 minutes to reach 50% and 100% in 59 minutes. It weighs 190 grams and is 161.74 x 76.32 x 8.55 mm in size.

Similar to its predecessors, the Nothing Phone 2a boasts a Glyph Interface that lets users customize the phone’s back lighting effects. Ten new ringtones and notification sounds, along with fifteen functionalities and a new trio light arrangement are all included in the LED interface. Users can now designate distinct patterns as ringtones for specific contacts or apps with this update. Setting lights for specific critical contacts or apps will be made easier with the help of the Essential Glyph Notifications feature. The Glyph Interface can also be used to adjust loudness or countdown the shutter on a camera.

In my opinion, if Nothing can deliver the design with the build quality of premium phones, the cost will be well justified for the specs and compromises, and yess trying towards making the Glyph more interactive in some way.

Google Chrome is a widely used web browser. However, CERT-In has released a high-severity warning alerting users to “multiple vulnerabilities” in the browser that could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and cause a denial of service condition on the targeted system.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) warned users to “apply appropriate updates as mentioned by the vendor” in a vulnerability note published on Wednesday. The note stated that a remote attacker could exploit specific vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted request to the targeted system.

On its website, which provides users with vulnerability notes and advisories, CERT-In stated that “multiple vulnerabilities have been reported in Google Chrome that could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and cause denial of service (DoS) conditions on the targeted system.”

The Pixel 8 Pro starts at $999 and comes with better cameras and a brighter screen. In contrast, the Pixel 8’s standard model has a display that is 6.2 inches smaller than the model it replaces. Both devices, which are now up for preorder, feature Google’s new Tensor G3 chipset, Android 14 out of the box, and a commitment to seven years of OS updates.

The Pixel Watch 2 is also available for preorder, starting at $349, and features some design updates. In addition to some features carried over from the Fitbit Sense 2, there is a new crown and an updated sensor array.

Google’s seven-year Pixel update promise is historic — or meaningless?

I’m shocked Google did it at all. I can’t believe it anymore. Authentic OS and feature updates over the course of seven years, not just security patches, on an Android phone? It is unusual. This is historic.

It goes against everything we’ve come to expect from Google over the past ten years and change—so many products interred in the Google graveyard, so many great smartphone features regrettably locked away due to Android fragmentation. Will the new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro finally end the cycle after “seven years of OS upgrades, security updates, feature drops, and AI innovations”?

If you haven’t heard, Google’s newest products are rife with artificial intelligence. There is Conversation Detection, an audio transparency feature powered by AI, Magic Editor, a photo editing tool powered by generative AI, and improved heart rate algorithms, which are, yes, also powered by AI.

OS updates for seven years? Sounds like a great way to get Google to add more AI features. new features in photography? All AI. processor tensor? It was made for AI, baby! “As always, our focus is on making AI more helpful for everyone, in a way that’s both bold and responsible,” said Rick Osterloh, Google’s hardware chief, in an introduction that, by my count, used the word “AI” more than a dozen times. During the launch’s hour-long duration, Google’s presenters referenced AI over 50 times.

In addition to introducing the new Pixel 8 and Pixel Watch 2 hardware at the Made by Google event, Google also revealed the launch of Assistant with Bard, which will use generative AI to offer users individualized support. The new AI-enhanced assistant, according to the company, can help you plan your upcoming trip, find information in your email inbox, and even make a grocery list.

Assistant with Bard will integrate with some of the business’s current apps, like Gmail and Docs, to help you find and summarize information, just like Bard on the web. Apple has announced four new iPhone 15 ‘s. We here discuss the price, tech specs, design changes, and more, especially USB-C

The most anticipated smartphones of the year have finally been released by Apple, which announced the iPhone 15, along with the iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, at its September event.

There were claims that Apple would introduce a new “Ultra” designation at the top end.

iPhone 15 – Design

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus gain “an industry-first color-infused back glass with a stunning, textured matte finish,” and now have the Dynamic Island, which was previously a Pro exclusive.

As usual, the Pro models have a number of additional physical improvements. 

The mute switch has most visibly been replaced by a clickable action button that, by default, silences your phone but can be customized to perform a variety of tasks like launching the Camera app, starting Voice Memos, or turning on Accessibility features. 

When you hit the Action button, you’ll get haptic feedback, and the Dynamic Island will provide you with additional visual indications.

Fundamentally, the 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max are the first iPhone models to be composed of titanium. For all four generations, the change from Lightning to USB-C as the charging and data-transfer connector is quite important. (Apple touted this as a positive move, which it is in many ways, but the corporation was compelled to make the adjustment due to impending regulation.) According to reports, the Apple iPhone 14 and Apple iPhone 14 Max will not employ the latest Bionic chipsets. Despite founder Carl Pei’s insistence that the phone (1) is about more than just features, the firm has made some significant information public. The phone (1) boasts a Snapdragon 778G Plus processor at its heart and a dual-camera configuration with a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary sensor on the back. The phone (1) includes a new Glyph Light arrangement on the back that also has a semi-transparent design, wireless charging capability, and other capabilities.
